The Bloemfontein Children’s Choir (BCC) had their first informal performance on Sunday 30 October in the Reformed Church Bloempark. This was only for family and friends to showcase the long road they took since the choir took on new leadership last year.
The BCC also released a new music video “Cantate Domino” (Sing to the Lord).
With the new and modern look of the choir with their new blue dresses and dress shirts, the emphasis is placed on moving in a new direction.
“Our children are very excited about the new uniform as it allows for a modern and stylish look but also allows for movement,” says Werner Stander, director of music.
Music included in the new repertoire ranges from secular, sacred music to traditional South African music.
The video, “Cantate Domino” was filmed at the Anglican Cathedral of St Andrew and St Michael, Bloemfontein.
Currently, the choir consists of 92 choristers between the ages of 9 and 17 years old.
During the performance in Bloempark, Take Note also entertained the guests.
