Get your walking shoes on for the #Bloeminstawalk23 that will be taking place on Saturday, 4 November, at the War Museum in Bloemfontein.
This event will presented for the fourth time by the Friends of the War Museum and the Central University of Technology at the Department of Tourism and Event Management.
The walk begins at 18:00 at the Farewell Statue.
The National Women’s Monument, the Bittereinder statue and a block house will be visited among others.
Dr. Eben Proos, chairman of the Friends of the War Museum and senior lecturer at the CUT department, says this year there will be another instawalk competition where individuals who attend the instawalk have the chance to win three wonderful prizes.
Follow these steps to qualify for the competition:
- Follow the Friends of the War Museum on Instagram,
- Attend the Instawalk on the 4 November,
- Take photos and videos on the day during the instawalk, and
- Post them on Instagram with the hashtag #BloemInstawalk2023.
All photos must be posted by 23:59 on 5 November to qualify for the competition. All photo’s count as an entry and three names will be drawn on 8 November. The prizes that can be won on the day are: first prize: cash prize, second prize: book prize of the War Museum, and third prize: book Battlefields, Memorials and Graves of the Anglo-Boer War in Bloemfontein and surroundings by the Friends of the War Museum.
The Instawalk will be presented by Proos. He encourages everyone, young and old, to come and enjoy the evening together while experiencing the museum at night, learning more about history in a fun and informal way and where the photo opportunities are endless.
