The launch of the book The Super Cadres will take place at Exclusive Books Loch Logan on Friday, 6 September, starting at 18:00.
This is part of a series of launches hosted countrywide by Jonathan Ball Publishers and Exclusive Books, presenting yet another thought-provoking look into the South African political elite offered by Pieter du Toit.
The author is a political journalist who has held senior positions at numerous Afrikaans titles, including that of political correspondent and news editor at Beeld.
The book launch will involve a discussion with journalist Charles Smith, delving into what Du Toit has dubbed “ANC misrule in the age of deployment”.
“If cadre deployment was a key policy tool for the ANC to gain complete control over the state and society, the assault on the rule of law was a crucial intervention to ensure the party retained command,” Du Toit has explained.
