The Good News Club is continuing their monthly project 3@4 on 5 – a clean-up project in Langenhovenpark, Bloemfontein.

The project at the 5th of each month at 16:00, identifies spesific areas and members come together to do three things: to remove litter; trim and prune larger trees or bushes; and clear away bigger rocks and construction materials and other debris.

Gert Duvenhage from The Good News Club, said the ultimate goal is to create a sustainable clean and well maintained green walkways thoughout Langenhovenpark for mountain bikers, joggers and walkers with pets.

Today TGNC will focus on cleaning up a green area alongside Topsy Smith Street.

All participants are invited to gather at the T-junction of Jan Spies with N.P. van Wyk Louw/Maretha Maartens Streets at the shopping centre marked by the pink dot on the graphic at 16:00 today.

There participants can collect refuge bags before moving to the path that runs along the canal. No cleaning inside the canal is necessary.

Once all the bags are full, tie them and leave them on the two track dirt road. The workers will collect the bags from 16:45.

Children that are going to joint the event, will receive a gift and are welcome to join.

Everyone should bring their own gloves.

The next event to which residents of Langenhovenpark are invited, will be on 5 August at 16:00.

Duvenhage says as the number of participants grows, they will expand their efforts to cover more areas to clean.
