Two Bloemfontein models won national titles at the 25th Jubilee Annual Crowning event of Miss and Mr Jnr South Africa in Pretoria.

Serena Donachie was crowned as Miss Universal South Africa and Monet Meyer as Miss Jnr South Africa.

The judging process, held in the ACPP Hall, comprised personal interviews and ramp walks featuring casual wear and evening wear segments.

This year’s event showcased a unique approach to philanthropy, with contestants actively involved in securing sponsorships to support Dignity Dreams Pads, providing washable and reusable sanitary pads to those in need; fundraising for tertiary education fees for deserving individuals in their communities; as well as supporting The African Queen Foundation with pre-loved clothing and stationary for the school supported in Pomene in Mozambique each year.

The pageant winners, together with their runners-up, are bestowed with various titles, empowering them to engage in charity and community work within their regions. Activities include visiting hospitals and children’s and old age homes, as well as participating in fundraising events.

The two young women are trained and coached by Arthur Browne, Free State regional manager for Mr and Miss Jnr SA, and the owner of AB Model Coaching in Bloemfontein.

The newly crowned winners will dedicate the next 12 months to community service initiatives. In addition to local commitments, the winners have the honor of representing South Africa at international pageants, including Little and Mr and Miss Teen Universe and World, Globe, Planet and International in Turkey in May.

“We look forward to the winners having a stunning year of reign and wish them well as they advance to the International pageant in Turkey,” Browne said.
