The National Museum in Bloemfontein is hosting its annual Free State Young Artists Awards for 2024 and the competition is open to all school learners from five to 19 years old.
Learners are asked to capture the beauty, challenges, and innovative solutions emerging from drought-affected landscapes with the theme “Fight Drought – Exploring Resilience and Innovation”.
They are tasked with showing the importance of sustainable water management.
With their art, they are encouraged to spark creative dialogue and inspire action towards a more harmonious relationship with our environment.
The museum will join the battle against drought by creating awareness.
The arts have always been a tool for commenting and creating awareness for contentious issues and the 2024 Free State Young Artist Awards Competition is the perfect platform for creative expression.
This competition is an annual event for the National Museum.
