The Free State Crinums started the Telkom Netball League (TNL) in ideal fashion by managing three wins in the first leg of the tournament in Polokwane from Thursday (27/04) to Monday.
Coached by former Protea and University of the Free State (UFS) players Martha Mosoahle-Samm as head coach and Karin Venter as assistant, the team is third on the log (6 points), behind the Gauteng Golden Fireballs (8 points) and Western Cape Southern Stings (6 points).
The Free Staters defeated the Gauteng Jaguars (58 – 52), North West Flames (55 – 36) and the KZN Kingdom Stars (48 – 29).
The next TNL leg takes place from 2 June to 1 July in Pretoria.
