The police in Navalsig are looking for suspects in a double murder case that took place over the weekend in Ryk Tulbach Street, Noordhoek.
An elderly couple, a 77-year-old male and 71-year-old female, were last seen by their neighbour, at their home on Sunday around 12:00.
On Tuesday a family friend, after not being able to get hold of them over the phone, decided to visit their home and noticed that all gates were closed.
He then decided to call the police to investigate.
A patrol vehicle was despatched to the couple’s home at around 19:20.
The police found the elderly man lying in a pool of dried blood next to a door.
On further investigation the police also discovered the body of the 71-year-old woman inside the house. Paramedics declared the victims dead.
The victims had multiple wounds to the head and body. It is suspected that a blunt object could have been used in the murders.
A team of experts were summoned to process the scene.
A case of double murder was opened at the Navalsig Police Station.
