In just a few weeks it will be time again for the rich aromas and lovely tastes of perfectly prepared game and meat dishes, as well as wine from the countries’ best cellars at the De Oude Kraal Country Estate and Spa’s annual WildsKOSfees.
The festival, at the estate south of Bloemfontein, will again play host to hundreds of food lovers from across South Africa on Saturday, 8 June.
Hosts Marie and Gerhard Lombard of De Oude Kraal are already preparing a feast of game, beef, lamb, chicken, and fish dishes. This year, there will be 24 different stalls where guests can taste all the dishes and specially prepared side dishes.
There will be wine from 22 cellars and guest will be able to buy the wine they like most from a wine shop at the festival.
Marie and her team will also host foodies in the VIP gourmet venue where she will demonstrate fine dining dishes, and guests will be given the opportunity to taste these along with accompanying wine.
A special wine auction of handpicked wines will also be held in the VIP venue.
Dodo Nyoka of of the TV series Die Kontrak is the guest artist for this year’s festival. Tickets for the WildsKOSfees are now on sale.
The VIP gourmet tasting tickets are R1 000 and include entry to the festival and tasting of all the dishes and wines. Tickets to the festival (excluding the VIP gourmet wine pairing), are R595, and R100 for children aged seven to twelve years. Entry for children younger than seven years is free of charge.
