Bloemfontein swimmers represented South Africa at the Brics U20 Swimming Champion­ships in Durban from 18 to 21 October:

  • Juan-dré de Vos (Sentraal High School) came fifth in the 200 m breaststroke final;
  • Ernst van Rensburg (Grey College) came sixth in the 200 m fly final;
  • Aiden Nel came sixth in the 200 m individual medley, seventh in the 400 m freestyle, and eighth in the 200 m free­style; and
  • Len-Douglas Mac Kay came eighth in the 100 m backstroke, seventh in the 200 m backstroke, and he was part of the South African relay team that came fourth in the 50 m x 4 freestyle. He was the only Bloemfontein swimmer in the relay team.
