A familiar face appeard on the kykNET soap Suidooster on Friday (21/07) in the role of Saskia.
Alyssa van Reenen, Eunice old girl that matriculated in 2020, said the opportunity to appear in Suidooster was a huge privilege.
“Saskia is a fiery young lady,” she talked about the role.
Alyssa is now a third year student at the film and acting academy ACT Cape Town. She said she was incredibly lucky to get a role in a TV soap while still studying.
“Seeing that I did not have the opportunity for a matric farewell during the pandemic, it was great to wear a beautiful dress in Suidooster.”
She recently returned from Manhattan in New York, USA, where she competed at the International Model and Talent Agency (IMTA) Convention from 23 June.
There she attained a first place in improvisations, second in the monologue competition and a 4th place overall in Actress of the Year.
Alyssa was also an actor in Nicola Hanekoms Mirre en Aalwyn at the KKNK in April.
“I was very nervous on my first day on the set,” she said about her first day of filming Suidooster in April. “I was star struck when I met Denise Newman (who plays the role of Bridgette October). She was lovely and I had a good conversation with her.”
On Monday (24/07), Alyssa have still not watched the first episode. “I think I will do it along with my parents.”
Alyssa enjoyed acting during her high school career in Bloemfontein and appeared in several school plays under direction of dr. Niel van Niekerk.
