The best in the province were honoured for the first time in three years at the Free State Sport Stars tonight.
The grand dinner, presented by Central 24 and the University of the Free State, took place at Monte Bello in Bloemfontein for the first time since 2019. The awards weren’t hosted in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19.
The Springbok rugby player Frans Steyn was the big winner and crowned Sport Star of the Year. Steyn was also named Sportsman of the Year. The Sportswoman of the Year was the Protea netball player Khanyisa Chawane. Vanes-Mari du Toit, former Protea netball player and well-known television presenter was the guest speaker.
