Learners of the St Michael’s School and Eunice Primary School count among the more than 400 learners from across the country who will travel to East London for the All Girls Sports Festival.
Ten schools from around the country will compete in this event. It was last hosted by Eunice in Bloemfontein in 2019.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this annual festival has been on hiatus for two years.
According to Bev Forword, festival organiser, the Clarendon Primary School is delighted to host this year’s event from Friday (25/03) to Sunday (27/03).
“It is amazing that it has been two years since we had to call off the festival,” she said.
Learners will compete in tournaments across six different sporting codes, namely hockey, netball, squash, tennis, water polo and chess.
While the competition will be stiff, Forword said the emphasis will be on camaraderie and sportsmanship.
