The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) in the Free State presented the Donor For Life awards ceremony for donors who reached their respective milestone of donating blood and saving lives. Of these donors are, from the left, Dirk van Heerden, Bertie Visser, Nicholas Prinsloo, and Paul Goetham (zone donor services manager for the SANBS). This was done at a function on Saturday, 15 February, held at the University of the Free State (UFS), where 322 donors were given recognition for their blood unit donations. Prinsloo received special recognition for inspiring present and future generations by donating 400 blood units. This milestone symbolises the potential saving of 1 200 lives through his contributions. Photo: Teboho Setena
