Dan Corder and the 5FM team visited Grey College (secondary) on a freezing Friday (21/07) as part of the 5FM School Takeover.
Corder said the visit was part of the national youth broadcaster’s drive to visit schools accross the country, celebrating excellence.
“We absolutely adored our time at Grey. It was the third school we visited, and it was great to get to know this iconic school a bit better,” he said after their visit toe Bloemfontein.
The tour started at the Amanzimtoti High School, and The King’s School Linbro Park in Sandton had a turn before the visit to Grey last week. On Friday (28/07) 5FM will visit a school in Cape Town.
“Grey is a beautiful school. We were very fortunate to be shown around the school, as well as its museums, and to take note of the sports athletes who had passed through the school and have gone on to represent the country.”
During the show, the team had the opportunity to learn more about the school.
“Hundreds of boys came out to do their absolutely spine-tingling school war cry.”
Corder said they were warmly welcomed in Bloemfontein.
“It was a really excellent day,” he said.
