Bloemfontein residents will need to seek all kinds of remedies to cool down during the next few days.

Another heat wave is moving in over central South Africa with temperatures hitting the high 30s from tomorrow onwards.

Julius Mahlangu from the South African Weather Service in Bloemfontein said a heat wave with temperatures hitting 36°C and 37°C are predicted from Tuesday through Thursday with temperatures cooling off a little towards the end of the week.

Mahlangu says this is normal heat conditions for summer and the high temperatures will continue until the end of February.

He said a frontal system will move in over the country and lower temperatures is predicted for Friday.

“By the weekend it will warm up again.”

He says low rainfall is predicted for the next couple of days with isolated showers that can be expected at nighttime.
