Months of disciplined dieting and excercising will yield results at the Bloem Classic body building competition on Friday, 6 May.
One of the participants will be Bloemfontein athlete Anga Ndum-Ndum.
“I never thought I’d be doing body building as a sport,” he says.
“I saw body builders with their huge bodies and muscles, and because I had a small body weighing less than 60 kg, I did not think I belonged among them. Now I take part in the sport because it has taught me so much about my body, my mental fitness, nutrition and physical appearance.”
Ndum-Ndum says the first time he stepped onto a stage, he gained confidence.
His journey with body building started in 2016. Since then he has taken part in many competitions, including the World Fitness Federation South Africa (WFFSA) Pro-Am Competition held at Bains Lodge last year. He took third place in the Men’d Performance and Athletic Body Building categories.
Previously he had taken first place in the WFF Free State and Northern Cape Provincials in 2017 and 2018 in the Men’s Fitness Body Building (Classic) category.
Ndum-Ndum built muscle through weight training and a very strict diet.
“I managed to keep my body in shape and now keep looking forward to attaining a better physique and achieving new goals.”
