Gugu the Clown, the magical ventriloquist, will present a fun, but educational show to children at the Fichardtpark Library on Wednesday (28/06) at 10:00.
Anton Dessels, with the Department of Education, developed the programme into a 40 minute show. Topics include personal and road safety, substance and child abuse and environmental hygiene.
The danger of several objects is explained through magical manipulation of silks, ropes, newspapers, water, balloons and fire, and the danger of substance abuse by using ventriloquist puppets.
Gugu tells children not to trust, nor get involved with, strangers who show interest in you for the wrong reasons.
The topic of child abuse is explained on a level that children will understand. Gugu also tells children about saving water, keeping the environment clean and planting something that adds value to our surroundings.
The show costs R10 per learner.
