It is that time of the year where Pro Strings and friends treat the elderley of Bloemfontein.
Violonist Sharon de Kock is leading the project to collect gifts for 700 packages for the Senior Seranade Christmas Outreach.
“We are now collecting toiletries, eats and treats to hand out at old age homes from 1 to 3 December.”
Included in the parcels are toiletries including soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, wash cloths, sjampoo and lip ice. They also need cup cakes, cake for a house of sweet treats, pledges for fudge and already have 300 pieces sponsored.
The gifts will be handed out and residents of old age homes will be treated to beautiful music.
Day 1 of outreach: 1 December:
- Huis Omgee (24 residents);
- Huis Dankbaar (28 residents);
- Huis Liefde (27 residents);
- Huis Geloof (28 residents);
- Noorderbloem (22 residents); and
- Mooihawe (67 residents).
Day 2 of outreach: 2 December:
- Westerbloem (61 residents);
- Siesta Old Age Home (51 residents);
- Huis Nederig (22 residents);
- Huis Vreugde (24 residents); and
- Huis Voorspoed (17 residents).
Day 3 of Outreach: 3 December:
- Huis Vrede (15 residents);
- Fichardtpark frail care (27 residents);
- Boikhuco Home for the Elderly (95 residents);
- Restore-a-life (33 residents) and
- Sante Frail Care (33 residents).
