Eager participants took part in a two-day learning festival presented by Bloemshelter, in cooperation with the University of the Free State (UFS) and the National District Hospital. Workshops were presented on the hospital grounds as part of the Father Heart Series on Thursday (08/12) and Friday.
Topics included eco building, compost making, water wise gardening, garden decor and glass recycling, wool spinning, furniture building, food processing and sewing.
Heidi Morgan of Bloemshelter said more than 155 people attended the various workshops per day.
“It was wonderful to see how eager some of the participants were to learn new skills and to get to as many sessions as possible. We were so thankful to the 22 presenters. There were some new organisations that took part for the first time, and it really was two wonderful days for all,” she said.
