Planning is afoot for Bloem Show 2024. The organisers have announced that this will take place from 25 April to 4 May under the theme “Around the World”.

Once more, the largest consumer event in central South Africa will have the city buzzing.

“Planning for Bloem Show 2024 has already kicked off – save the date! We are looking forward to building upon the success of the 2023 event, which celebrated Bloem Show’s 140th year of existence,” said Elmarie Prinsloo, chief executive officer.

While the booking process for other exhibitions officially opens on Tuesday, 15 August, Prinsloo said the agricultural championships for 2024 were already fully booked, with a record number of livestock expected. Last year’s programme included 21 championships with 5 083 participating horses, cattle, sheep and goats. Also, 289 dairy product entries were received from various dairy factories in South Africa.

“Bloem Show is still the place to showcase top-class livestock and genetics in South Africa,” said Prinsloo.

Underscoring the success of Bloem Show 2023, the number of patrons and exhibitors surpassed that of 2022 and even 2018. In total, 107 464 visitors attended this year’s show, from 27 April until 6 May.

There were 312 exhibitors and 62 food stalls, as well as 2 067 submissions for the creative crafts and arts division. Prinsloo said it was pleasing to see many schools submitting entries for this.

According to Prinsloo, these developments signify Bloem Show’s growth.
