After a high speed chase on the R702 between Dewetsdorp and Bloemfontein, police managed to arrest four suspects with a miniubus taxi full of livestock.
The police from the Bloemfontein Flying Squad together with the Parkweg Stocktheft Unit worked together to arrest the suspects after stocktheft near Dewetsdorp.
The flying squad received information at 03:00 on Wednesday (23/08) about a white Toyota Quantum that was spotted on the R702.
A high-speed chace ensued and members of the flying squad managed to block and stop the vehicle.
In the taxi members of the police found 22 merino sheep and the four suspects between the ages of 30 and 40 years were arrested.
The value of the sheep was around R52 000.
The four suspects will appear in the Dewetsdorp Magistrate Court soon on possesion of suspected stolen livestock and theft of livestock.
