Bloem News editor Lientjie Mentz was on Friday (23/09) recognised as the best journalist of the year at the 2022 Sport Awards function in Bloemfontein.
Lientjie has established a reputation as a dedicated journalist with a passion for covering important issues and events, engaging readers, and helping fuel positive change.
The Free State Sports Association for the Physically Disabled and Visually Impaired said in its nomination, “Lientjie has an in-depth knowledge of the disabled athlete. Our association has huge respect and gratitude for Lientjie, as she always makes an effort to report on our athletes and their achievements.”
Free State Aquatics said Lientjie consistently reported on the development and elite sport efforts and challenges in the community.
