The time is drawing near for another provincial championship of the World Fitness Federation (WFF) for the Free State and Northern Cape – Saturday, 3 September, is around the corner.

This comes shortly after two local bodybuilders excelled at the WFF Universe Championship that was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on 16 and 17 July.

Simoné de Klerk was first in the Miss Glamour division and Jeanre du Preez fifth in the Bikini Pro line-up.

The provincials will again be hosted at Bains Lodge, Bloemfontein, as it did last year.

The competition will be a qualifier for the WFF National Championship, which will take place on 15 October in KwaZulu-Natal. This national event will be a qualifier for the WFF World Championship, set to be held in Indonesia in November.

Competitors can enter the provincial championship in various categories.

Hende-Mari Strydom, president of the WFFSA, says competitors do not need to be bodybuilders to take part in the categories of Mens Jeans Model and Miss Glamour.

Registration for the provincials in Bloemfontein will be done at Bains Lodge on 2 September from 17:30 to 18:30, and the competition will start the Saturday at 14:00.

Tickets for spectators will cost R150.
