R10 parking fee payable at Oliewenhuis

Be ready to pay a fee of R10 per vehicle for parking at the Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein.

This new measure was announced at the beginning of April.

Ester le Roux, curator of the museum, said the parking fee was implemented by the National Museum management and administration department.

She said pedestrians entering the grounds of Oliewenhuis, may still enter free of charge, but vehicles now pay R10 cash per car for parking on the premises.

Oliewenhuis is a satellite of the National Museum and a declared cultural institution which resorts under the department of sport, art and culture and governed by a council appointed by the national minister.

The parking fee is for visitors to the art museum or those coming for a picnic on the lush green grass surrounding Oliewenhuis,

Visiting hours is Monday to Fridays from 08:00 to 17:00, Saturdays from 09:00 to 16:00, Sundays and Public Holidays from 09:00 to 16:00 and the museum and grounds will be closed on Good Friday.
