The local frisbee team, the Sungazers, came out on top during the South African Flying Disc Association’s (SAFDA) Northern Regional Ultimate Frisbee Tournament where mixed teams competed.

The tournament was held in Bloemfontein on 9 and 10 August, and hosted by the Sungazers at the Eunice High School.

Seven teams from across the Northern region participated for not only the regional title, but also for the honour of representing the region at the national play-offs from 24 to 26 October.

The Sungazers were pushed to their limit but managed to take the title for the third consecutive year.

The tournament’s final standings were:

1. Sungazers (Bloemfontein);

2. TailWhip (Johannesburg);

3. Kaalvoet Kaos 1 (Pretoria);

4. Vaaltimate (Vaal Triangle);

5. Elevation (Potchefstroom);

6. Ultitude (Johannesburg); and

7. Kaalvoet Kaos 2 (Pretoria).
