Beneficiaries who need to transition from the gold South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) card to the black Postbank card have until 20 March to do so.
Beneficiaries are urged to act as soon as they can.
In order to receive a black card, free of charge, beneficiaries are simply required to have a valid South African identity document (ID) or a temporary ID. No card will be issued without these documents.
The black cards work in all National Payment System channels, which include ATMs, retailers’ point-of-sale machines, and any place that accepts a bank card. Cards can be used immediately after being issued.
