Twelve strangers are brought together to decide the fate of a young man accused of murder. What begins as an open-and-shut case soon spirals into a gripping battle of logic, prejudice, and morality. Twelve Angry Jurors, an adaptation of the classic courtroom drama, examines what it means to seek justice – and the courage it takes to stand alone in the face of doubt.

This powerful student-led production explores themes of bias, civic duty, and the fragile nature of truth, brought to life by a cast of 12 passionate and talented performers. With only one room, one table, and one verdict, tensions run high in this unforgettable theatrical experience.

“This play has tested all of us – not just as performers, but as humans. It’s about more than guilt or innocence. It’s about how we listen, judge, and choose to stand for something when it’s easier to stay silent. I couldn’t be prouder of what this cast and technical crew have achieved,” says director Lorenzo Dampies.

Twelve Angry Jurors is performed by the second year Drama and Theatre Art Students of the University of the Free State. Performances in the Scaena Theatre are from 21 to 23 May at 18:00.

Tickets cost R60, R40 for students and R25 for pensioners and groups and are available on Webtickets.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.
