The date is set for the by-election of four new ward councillors in the Mangaung Metro after the ANC dismissed the previous councillors from the party.
Voter registration wil take place from Saturday (03/06) to Sunday, from 08:00 tot 17:00 on each day.
The by-elections for ward 7 (Bloemfontein), 29 (Botshabelo), 49 (Thaba Nchu) and 50 (Wepener) will take place on Wednesday, 19 July.
The assembling of registration points in the different wards this weekend is to allow for all eligible voters to register, and for current voters to check and confirm their registration details.
Voters may also view and update their details at their local municipal Electoral Commission Office (IEC) on weekdays, during office hours.
Special voting will take place at voting stations, as well as during home visits, on 18 July, between 08:00 and 17:00.
Voters who wish to apply to cast a special vote can apply at their local IEC office, during office hours, between 3 and 7 July.
Application for special votes can also be made at elections.org.za.
Once these voters have applied online, they will receive an SMS notifying them of the outcome when their application has been processed.
They can also check the status of their special vote application at elections.org.za.
